From a mill to a Global Player

Fortin Mühlenwerke GmbH & Co. KG was founded in the heart of Düsseldorf, in Kornhausstrasse situated at the port, on 8. August 1932.

While, at the beginning, production focused on soups, dried vegetables and oat products, it switched after the war to the manufacture of peeling mill products, such as foodstuffs made from oat, wheat, spelt, barley and rye for the food industry, such like breakfast cereal manufactures, bakeries snack manufactures and retail in more than 60 countries worldwide.

Due to the rebuilding of the state parliament complex, the company was forced to set up a whole new factory in Düsseldorf´s port. It was constructed according to the latest technological know-how and is now one of the most modern milling plants in Europe. After a big fire in the production in 2011 the production facilities were completly renovated and equipped with the latest technologies. Fortin has remained family-owned since its foundation in 1932.

In addition, it has always been Fortin Mühlenwerke´s goal to manufacture high-quality products at reasonable prices.
 Fortin Mühlenwerke is leading the way with regard to quality and price, thanks to the use of state-of-the-art equipment. Their customers include many well-known companies with an international reputation, and export of Fortin products is constantly increasing.
